It has been awhile since I have been on MDC. I havent had much computer time with travelling to the NICU and staying home with the girls. Lincoln is my big boy 5lbs8oz and we are preparing for his homecoming. His discharge date as of right now is Oct. 26 which was his original EDD. He is still on O2 and will more than likely come home on it. We have been working with his oral aversion and finally have him taking all his feeds by mouth, however getting him to the breast has been hard. He has trouble latching on, however nursing is something we can work on once he is home.
Pierce is having a much rougher NICU ride. His belly is still acting up. We had his 3rd belly surgery on Monday, where he lost 2 cm more of his intestine. Hoping that is the end of it. His lungs are horrible and he has been unable to wean off the vent. He is on the Jet oscillatory ventilator, letting his lungs heal, however it doesnt seem like he will ever wean off a ventilator which has been frustrating. We will be starting Nitrice oxide treatments on monday.
