ob vs. mw for postpartum csection check up

Is this the right place to ask?

I'm 14 months postpartum and had an unplanned csection. I'm overdue for my yearly partly bc I've been so busy, but also bc I DREAD seeing an ob and had a terrible experience during my pregnancy and birth. My csection scar has been giving me some trouble in addition to ongoing lower abdominal pains. I need to see someone about this and wanted some advice about who would be more appropriate to see for postpartum operative pains - an ob or a mw.

Also, I'll probably try again the end of next summer for baby #2 and would like to have an HBAC. So I'd like to find a mw now and build a good relationship with her.

Hope this question makes sense. TIA for your help.

I'd guess that for specific help w/the C/S issues it might be more helpful to see an OB. BUT I'd suggest that you could start by finding and seeing a MW who might be able to recommend a DIFFERENT OB than the one who did your surgical birth.

Why not go see a CNM? That's sort of middle of the road

Many thanks! I'm going to see a CNM first and if needed, get a referral from her. Great idea.
