Did anyone use a diva cup or keeper postpartum? If so, how long did you wait before using it?

My mom gave me this for Christmas and I absolutely love it. Gorgeous illustrations and very sweet ideas inside. Plus it's just structured enough so that I can be creative about what I include...

This is the prettiest carrier, and fit my shoulders and figure (at 5'6") much better than the Ergo. I got it when my daughter was about nine months, two years ago - it doesn't appear to have...

This potty is great - excellent value & performance! (plus it's cute!) My 9 month old DS took to it right away. He is a big boy (30 in. tall - feet not quite on floor - & 27 lbs.) and this is...

I didn't use my Diva postpartum- I would let everything heal and "drain" the usual way until your midwife gives you the ok. Only because it's in there for hours at a time, under suction, and pressing on the walls, etc. I'm not too worried about "early" nookie (I'm a beliver in the "if you're in the mood and feel up to it" philosophy), but nookie is a short-lived adventure as opposed to having your cup in, KWIM?

There isn't a midwife...that's why I'm asking MDC!
I'm concerned about the vaginal walls and bruising, but I LOVE my diva cup and HATE anything else.
I wonder what they say about other things, like tampons postpartum. Hmm.

Tampons and sea sponges are definite no-no's postpartum. The risk of TSS and other postpartum infection is too high to have something "living" up there for a while (the cups are supposedly lower risk for TSS, since they don't absorb- but they still press and suck). You really don't want to risk a childbed fever!
I know postpartum lochia is a drag, but it's part of the package! What about some of the jumbo mama pads? Yuk, but that's the nature of the beast, right?
