Blebs & Blanching

Ow!! I am experiencing some nipple issues on his favorite side and it hurts!! I have noticed the white circle that appears with a nice side of pain and realized that it is a vasospasm. Also, I have a few small blisters/blebs (?) to go along with it. I have read on kellymom and am trying warm compress before nursing and lanolin afterwards but it is not really helping yet.

Any suggestions? Or does this just take a few days to work out?

Have you been having vasospasms all along or did it just start? If it just started it maye just be bc of the blebs.

Kellymom has great info, so just follow the directions you have from there pertaining to the blebs and it should work out. If you need to, call an LC or LLL leader and ask for an MD reccomendation to an MD that can remove the ble if need be.

I am having the same problem-- Though fighting thrush right now, I figured the vasospasm is normal.

But what is a bleb? I have heard of them but don't know what they are or why you would need surgery for them.

A bleb is a milk blister, you wouldn't need surgery, but someone may need an MD to dig it out w/ a sterile instrument. That is something a mom should not do herself and is beyond an LC's scope of practice, even if they are an RN.

I have had several blebs, plugged ducts, and vasospasms. I took lecithin for a while and I sometimes had to lance the blebs with a needle. Be very careful to sterilize properly. Also, my bf dr recommended magnesium supplements to help with the vasospasms.
