Plastic furniture for kids?

What do you think of plastic kids' furniture? I want to buy IKEA Mammut chairs and table (made of Polypropylene) for my 15mo old. They look so cute.
Are there any health concerns using plastic furniture? I am trying to decide between shiny looking IKEA and used solidwood table set (but with a laminate top - which concerns me though because of possible use of adhesive?). Thanks!

I would opt for the minnen chair & table set from Ikea rather than the mammut. The wood is much more sturdy & solid and will last longer than the plastic for not much more money. If you want to color it, have the kids go crazy on it with their crayons
