traveling with sick child

So DS has come down with something. He has a fever (about 100 degrees, nothing too bad) and has been coughing very mucousy sounding coughs.

Thursday we are going to Disney with my inlaws. They paid for the trip as our Christmas gift.

I'm hoping DS will be better by Thursday and it will be a non-issue, but would like to think about what to do if DS gets sicker in the meantime.

So, do you drag a sick child to Disney?

I guess it would depend how he felt. If he were miserable and wiped out, then absolutely not. But if he just has a cold, then I would if he seems up for it.

By Wednesday, he probably won't still have the fever, and it will be a lot clearer what he does have. I'd try to relax until then and just assum he'll probably be fine to go.

If you do go and are flying, remember that take off and landing can be pretty painful to someone's ears when they're congested. They have those ear-planes ear plugs that are supposed to help. I'd probably try those if I were taking a young child with a cold on a plane.

Thanks, it's so hard to know what to do.

Poor guy is miserable today, his fever just spiked to 103 (which is unusual for the middle of the day, his fevers are usually at night).

I'm trying to stay positive and assume that he'll be fine by Thursday.

Oh, poor little guy.

Thursday is a long way off, so don't panic!
