Thanks everyone.
PROM is premature rupture of membranes, when your water breaks but labor doesn't start, or takes a long time to start.
The manual extraction -- it hurt, for sure. The CNM at the hospital had to reach in and get it, along with a zillion clots. I was also in a lot of pain prior to that because I was having ctx and I could
feel my placenta inside me (very close to coming out, just not quite there) and yet I could not push it out. Every time I pushed, only blood and clots came out. My bp was REALLY low -- I am a large woman, so my bp usually borders on high -- and I felt really terrible.
I felt wayyyyyyyyy better as soon as it was out. Huge difference!
