Baby born at home, placenta delivered at hospital! - Page 2

Yay Erika! I'm so glad to hear that you had Sydney finally! Congratulations! 90 minutes, that's nuts! I'm so proud of you for waiting it out at home, and I am sorry you had to go to the hospital. I'd love to hear more details when you have the time(which I realize may be next year.) What was the manual extraction like?

Good job you! Way to go! So glad you weren't given a ration of crap at the hospital.
Enjoy your new baby, big sister looks like she is enjoying her role!

Thanks everyone.

PROM is premature rupture of membranes, when your water breaks but labor doesn't start, or takes a long time to start.

The manual extraction -- it hurt, for sure. The CNM at the hospital had to reach in and get it, along with a zillion clots. I was also in a lot of pain prior to that because I was having ctx and I could feel my placenta inside me (very close to coming out, just not quite there) and yet I could not push it out. Every time I pushed, only blood and clots came out. My bp was REALLY low -- I am a large woman, so my bp usually borders on high -- and I felt really terrible.

I felt wayyyyyyyyy better as soon as it was out. Huge difference!

Here's a pic of Sydney in her first prefold
