At my local Zellers a couple days ago, the cashier told me that everything purchased in the store had to go out the door in a plastic bag
She ended up using three bags for stuff that I turned around and stuffed into my one cloth bag. The only other solution she offered me was to tag every.single.item with those huge orange stickers they usefor things to big for a bag. But I was in a hurry, and had bought a bunch of little items. So I took the darn plastic bags and left. I understand that there is a theft problem in the store, and there are three seperate checkout areas and two exits, but I still want to use my cloth bags!
If I write to the head office and tell them I want to be able to use my cloth bags, what kind of solutions could I offer to help protect them against theft? What do other stores do to allow cloth bags without putting themselves at a higher risk?
I might also have to mention in the letter that even Wal-fart sells their own cloth bags now!

DEFINITELY speak with a manager. That's absurd.
