Does a directory like this exist?

I'm picturing a directory that lists all of the wonderful sites that provide freebies to teachers/homeschoolers - printables, activities, curriculums, general hs info, forums, etc.

Something that might divide them up by topic (say coloring pages, printable activities/games, printable worksheets, online games, online programs, etc.) and by age...

So when you attempt to find activities for yoru kids you don't have to search through each web link you've saved when you have no idea what the content is about 'till you visit it and if it's what your looking for...? :-)

If not, I'm all for starting one. Anyone want to help? :-)

Way back when I signed up for a free work book and when I recieved it I also go a a neat book called "The internet Kids and Family yellow Pages". Just pick a topic and look it up. I don't even know if it is still avaliable the ISBN is 0-07-212058-4

i love that idea too!!!! the closest sites i've found are these:

http://www.seo-serrc.org/Nick07.pdf

http://www.sitesforteachers.com/

http://www.atozteacherstuff.com/

however, i honestly don't use these sites frequently (except A-Z i use a lot). there's so much info there that it's hard to sift through it all when i need something quick. what i have done is weeded through these websites and then i book mark the ones i love and save them in folders. i categorize them by themes. for example, if i need a craft, i go to my craft folder. if i need an idea for a lesson, i go to my lesson plan folder, etc. this works great for me.

www.learningpage.com is awesome and free; it's got loads of multiple resources. www.enchantedlearning.com is wonderful too but the membership cost (however, they have free stuff too) and then any of the DLTK websites serve in multiple ways too.

hopefully others will chime in too!

A really quick way is to Google exactly what you want - like "printable giraffe activities for kids" - if you can name it, you can be pretty certain that somebody's already put up some cool resources online. It's amazing.

I guess I should add that I have links to a lot of good sties for these kinds of things on several different pages - but I purposely haven't categorized them at this point. One of my little eccentricities, I guess...
