ringin in my ds 1st bday with soreness again!

My ds is 1 years old today and in an effort to help me re live those precious first days, my right nipple has been getting sore when nursing and even to the touch
The other side is fine and I don't see any real obvious signs of thrush but it is a possiblity since my diet has been anything but perfect lately.
He has been falling alseep lately while nursing and clamping down very hard on that nipple, do you think this could be causing the soreness?
Any suggestions? I am still going to nurse him, he's only 1, and so don't want this to interrupt our really good bf relationship.

Could it be positioning or latch? Around this age they can get a little lazy with it at times, which can cause some soreness.

it could be, he has become quite an acrobat while nursing, I've been lazy too I guess...well I prefer the word relaxed...about it. I hope that is all it is and not thrush! ;(
