What can I use on baby's butt for rash?

My baby has never had a rash or anything but I just noticed 3 small red dots forming on his butt area. Is zinc oxide something I should use or no? Any natural alternatives like oils? I want to stop it before it gets bad! Not sure if this is even posted in the right area!

A little bit of nakey time should do the trick. And if that isn't possible, just change diapers more frequently. We never use any creams on dd and her booty is just fine!

We used to joke that DD had dolphin skin because she never got diaper rash. Then she got one that wouldn't go away. I tried Butt Paste (not sure how natural that is) and breastmilk. The thing that finally worked was a 1:1 ratio of tea tree oil and olive oil. The rash was almost completely gone in 2 days. I agree with the PP. If the rash it just in its infancy, a lot of naked time should help a lot!

My DD gets a rash once in a while when she's teething and zinc cream (we like Burt's or Weleda) works great.

Once she got a horrible rash while travelling (combo of reasons) and I used a mix of zinc cream and Weleda's wound care to heal it.

Breastmilk and nakey time are also great ideas to try first.

My ds gets a rash when he's teething, too. We use Burt's Bees on him and it works great. Umm, actually...I've used it on myself and it soothed my bottom...

you could also try some aloe or honey.

shea butter and butt paste was my latest solution.

Don't have kids, but coconut oil comes to mind for it's antibacterial properties.
