I have really long thick hair. Right now I just wash with a shampoo bar and rinse with acv and water. I'm getting it cut on Thursday to have layers, with the shortest layer just at or below chin length. I know that when a lot of the weight is off, there is a lot of natural wave to it. When I've had layers before, I used products they sell in the salon. I don't want to use those things anymore. Is there a natural thing to put in my hair to scrunch when it is wet and help the waves come out?

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

i have very long, thick, very curly hair.
i mix a dime sized amount of an almond oil blend (i think it's almond, olive, jojoba, and a couple more -- it's called "almond glow" and i got it at my HFS) with a teeny bit of honey (little less than dime sized) in my hands and scrunch that through my wet hair. when it dries it's just like mousse. it defines my curls and gives really great volume and control without being stiff.

You can add brown sugar or honey (small amounts) to your ACV rinse. Or you can make a spray bottle (travel sized one - it's about a cup's worth of liquid) of lavender essential oil (about a bottle capful or less, depending on how strong it smells to you) and distilled water. For extra moisturizing, add some drops of jojoba oil or coconut oil in your spray water. Spray on hair after you shower. Style hair as usual.
Play with the amounts and see what works for you.
