She just cried a lot for about a day like she was in pain. but then about a week after she started to be a fussier baby. Colicky symptoms, not eating as much (used to eat whenever offered) I have no idea if it's the vaccine or coincidence.

DS had DTaP, Prevnar, HiB, Polio and I think one other one but not the Roto

He had a fever and was inconsolable. He barely ate for 16 hours which was extremely unusual for him, as at that time he was nursing around the clock still. He also slept for a long time straight and when he did wake up he was definitely extremely uncomfortable. I'm guessing it was from the DTaP.

Luckily the next day he was better and doesn't SEEM to have any lasting effects. I wonder if he had some sort of encephalitis or swelling of the brain

I called the ped's office and got the usual bull from the nurse about it being a normal reaction, and of course DH listened in on the phone w/o me knowing it and believes the nurse.

My DS had fever 102.5 for 4 days, he screamed & screamed & screamed & screamed. He would nurse, let go scream, nurse 3-4 pulls, scream for the first 2 days. He broke out in hives from head to toe. He COULDN'T be put down- panicky sweaty scream. He developed reflux, lactose intollerance (in my milk) (never had a problem before) and thrush-severe thrush and choked to blue point all the time for 2 weeks. Excema severly.

We also had lethargy that lasted for a while. He was just in his own world. Scary- and all the Dr's said "Oh he's fine, no problems- all normal vax stuff. If he's not better in 2 weeks then we will look at him" and to think I fell for it. What's even worse is we vaxed him 2 more times before I knew- KNEW better! How horrible I feel about my poor Jacob.

He took 3 years for him to "come back" from his vax issues. He is pretty normal 5 year old. Still has ADD and eye contact aversion. He also is in his own world. He used to walk in circles for hours, now he only does that if he's stressed out.

ETA: We never had the Rotovirus, not to my knowledge anyway.

My ds had a fever and slept and slept...
He also had that cry... come evening he was screaming and screaming and even now I feel terrible about it :. There was nothing I could do to comfort him and stop the high pitched screaming... ONLY after that, did I question vaccinating - amongst the 'normal reactions' list (to the vax) that my GP gave me, that was not one of them! ...not to mention that we were out of town for a month, so my ds didnt get his first dose until he was 3 months old (instead of the average 2 months here) and how we were treated because of that by a very rude nurse!....

Omg...I have never made/though of this connection before... What I have bolded is the same thing that happened to my son! I thought...it just happened... I suppose I will never know for sure, but I could be quite convinced that this was caused by the vax... the reflux was so bad in fact he went from 20lbs at 15 weeks (yeah I had a large son nearly 11lbs at birth lol) to 17lbs at 17 weeks because of the reflux issue....which is why we were told to wean early (18 weeks) - it helped keep his milk down and he started to put weight back on though he still had reflux and even gets its now ocassionaly but nothing like it was where he was losing weight becuase of it...

sometimes I just hate hindsight!....there is nothing I can do to go back in time and help to change that. But I have learned from my mistakes at least!

My now almost 10 year old reacted to her 2 month shots. I know she got the DTP (it wasn't the "aP", this was right around the time they started switching...actually I think the AAP was recommending the "aP" already but my ped was behind the times . I'm not sure off the top of my head what else she got that day.

She was usually a very alert and regular child with regard to feeding. That day, after the shot, she slept for six hours straight and I couldn't wake her to eat. Then when she finally woke up she screamed that high-pitched scream for hours. Ped said everything was OK because she didn't have a high fever. She *seemed* OK after that day, but today she has learning disabilities, alopecia areata, is much more oppositional than my other girls, and has multiple food allergies (I actually think she had these before the 2 month shot...). We don't know what, if any, of these longer term issues is a result of the 2 month shot.

Before DS's 2 mo apt I was VERY vax supportive..... yeah, stupid me didn't research. DS reacted with THE most inhuman cry I've ever heard in my life... fast forward to 3 months later he starts having seizures... fast forward to 9 mo I take him to a pedi Neuro and after MRI at 5 mo and EEG at 9 mo it's determined that he's neurologically normal and on track, but has unexplained seizures not caused by epilepsy.... Now, obviously I'll never know if he would have had stress seizures anyways- he had endocrine problems to start, but we won't be vaxing him again.

BTW, the doc REFUSED to VAERS report so I did it myself and it's written on the front of his "shot record"

After several hours of the crying that others have described, Dante slept ... and slept ... and slept ... I had a scary and nearly impossible time waking him up to nurse. After 10 hours of this combined with fever, we did take him to ER and were told that it was normal and nothing to be concerned with.

Long term effects are hard for me to say. Dante has a speech delay and is in therapy for that (he's 4 years old now, but probably at the level of a 2.5 - 3 year old for communication) They have tested and don't believe he is autistic.

My oldest had the DTaP scream for almost two hours, beginning on the card ride home from the doctor's office. This was followed by fever that kept climbing higher and higher. At 2 AM, his fever was near 105, and he had an episode of trembling/shaking and staring (febrile seizure?). He did not act himself for days afterward. He is now 6 and has had chronic respiratory problems ever since. He was diagnosed with asthma at age 4 1/2.

DS was fully vaccinated until 18 months and has sensory disorders (not sure if thats because of vax or what?... he also had delayed speech)

DD was vaccinated up until 2 months and we didnt go back for 4 months shots lol or anything after that lol.. and shes extremely speech delayed.. as in shes 2.5 yrs old and doesnt say 1 word consistently and you cant understand ANY of it... (again, not sure if vax did that or if its just her?)

I was vaccinated and about 2-3 days after vaccines, I ended up in the hospital with a fever of 104 (this was at 2 months) and they did a LP to check for meningitis.. Apparently, I had viral meningitis but it wasnt bacterial ?!? I dunno.. mom remembers it being hell but doesnt quite remember specifics lol.. and she would have NEVER put vaccines and reactions together lol.. but she now sees it and supports my decision not to vax fully (although shes against me wanting to get them chicken pox lmao)

My son was vaccinated at 2 months. Three days later he had what we now think was a seizure. He's now 14 months and has a seizure disorder & a slew of other needs possibly related to a metabolic/mitochondrial disorder. I'll always wonder if the vaccinations had anything to do with it.

AJ was vaxed at 2 mos and the next morning the screaming began. It got to one point where I called the DR and the nurse freaked out as his screaming and said he needed to come in right away. The DR said he was fine, no problems and it definitely wasn't the vax that caused it. : The screaming continued off and on for 2 wks and there was nothing we could do when it happened. He wouldn't nurse, he didn't want to be held, he would just scream this blood curdling scream like someone was ripping off his leg. It was horrible. He was never vaxed again after we did a lot of research and the other 2 aren't vaxed either. Our research us led us to believe he reacted to the DTaP shot.

This is the thread I started after my DS#2 got the DTaP at 2 months:

"I've been off and on with the whole vax thing. Should we get them, should we not? We decided to get one- the DTaP, because pertussis scares me, even though it probably shouldn't. We live in an area where it gets bad, so I let that scare me into getting my 2 month old a vax for it.

I feel like the worst mom ever. As they were sticking my baby with the needle, I felt like someone punched me in the gut. I KNEW I made a mistake. I cried so hard. I tried to tell myself that this one shot wouldn't be a big deal, and then we wouldn't do it again. Little Bear seemed fine by the time we got home. Then he started screaming (not just crying, but this scream that I've never heard before) and he kept it up for 3 and 1/2 hours. He's been so irritable since then (the vax was last Thursday). DH, who used to be pro vax, feels horrible, too. We've been beating ourselves up for the last few days."

After this post my DS came down with this horrible cold. He was miserable. He wouldn't smile (not just when the cold came on, but right after the shot). He would just cry- A LOT! It lasted for almost a week. Then we got some sodium ascorbate from a mom here and gave it to him in regular doses and within 24 hours seemed to do a lot better and within 2 days he was smiling and happy for the first time in about a week.

He is now a happy and healthy 14 month old who has never had (and never will have) another vaccination. I don't feel guilty for not vaccinating and I don't feel scared about the "what if's" of not vaccinating.
