My Child's vax reaction: at Six-18 Month Well Baby Visit-(up to 2/3 years) - Page 2

I vaccinated my twins (now 8 1/2) through 2 years of age. By 2, they were showing clear signs of ADHD and neurological abnormalities. I also recieved the flu shot when 9 weeks pregnant with them, afraid that the flu would worsen my asthma while pregnant.

I don't know which of those vaccines was to blame or if it was the combination of them or if it was vaccinating my premature twins, but one of them did the job. To my recollection they never had any immediate reactions to the vaccines, just apparently irreversable neurological damage.

Due to surgery, my son's vaccines started about 1.5 months late. His 3rd round of shots, (typically the 6 month round) was given 9/27/99 when he was 7.5 months old. Vaccines given, 3rd dose of DPTH (no longer manufactured) & 1st dose of Hep B.

Reaction:

Screamed on and off for two days

Sore leg

Stopped eating, would only nurse

Lost all baby fat

Sweating beneath the head while sleeping

Respiratory problems

Took 5 months to gain 1 pound, 5 more months to gain another

He never got another shot.

Today he is 8.5 yrs old and in 3rd grade, he's hovering at around 37 pounds.

Eats much better now but took several years, no more sweating while sleeping, no more respiratory issues. Still slow to gain weight but most other symptoms resolved within a year after stopping the shots.

The dr said it couldn't have been the vaccines even though there was no other change in his routine, just the shots. I had to file the VAERS report myself, I wanted this information recorded somewhere!

DTP only at 6 months. She was inconsolable for at least three hours and ran a fever.

DTP at 9 months, no reaction.

my ds got 3 shots at 1 year (behind schedule). He had a very sore arm (couldn't sleep on it, hurt without touching it) and it turned very red getting worse for three days then getting better.

My nephew got measles right after a measles vaccination and the doctors told the parents it was "another kind of measles".
From what I understand, anyone can report. That's what makes VAERS so completely unreliable.

We didn't have any reactions by the way. Unless you count my son's boosted immunity to certain diseases.

She developed a fever of about 101-102 that lasted 3-4 days. It's the only time I've given OTC medicine to dd, but she was pretty inconsolable (no high-pitched scream or anything, but crying, miserable, etc.) so we gave her some kind of pain reliever/fever reducer (tylenol maybe).

She also stopped babbling for several weeks. That was the worst and scariest part. She went from seeming to be very much ahead verbally (babbled and interacted verbally very early) to ending up a bit behind. She's 18 mos and has about 10-15 words. Her doctor (a family practitioner) was quite concerned at her 9 mo visit when we described her discomfort and how long the fever lasted from the first shots, and said "Good" when we said no shots at that next visit. Nice to have a supportive HCP.

I know most of her reaction (fever, swelling, etc.) is just normal, don't worry stuff. But I wouldn't want to see how the next round would have gone, if the reaction gets worse. It was bad enough.

the babbling story is so common. It just breaks my heart. I know that many doctors think there is no connection. But I find the whole thing wildly disconcerting.

Ds1 was on a delayed schedule and didn't get vaxed until 6 months...not sure if this should go in this thread or the 2 month one. He received Pentacel and meningitis. He also stopped babbling for awhile, had extremely runny poo which never really did firm up the way my unvaxed ds2's did. He was somewhat speech delayed. I no longer know if that's vax related, since ds2 is much more speech delayed than ds1 was. He's been diagnosed with anxiety disorder and impulse control problems. He's very immature for his age in a lot of way, but that could just be him. He had some autistic tendancies around 18-28 months, but he seems to have grown out of them. I don't know if he would have if we'd continued vaxxing.

I think that they meant adverse reactions

well the first time we really didn't know with my 20

yr old. I kept getting told it was a normal reaction and as a young mother I was over reacting.
They told my parents the same thing. That their 19 yr old dd just didn't understand and he would be fine.
The only thing he had that day (this predated the multis on multis) and his leg swelled up 2x its size and was GREEN
We use hot clothes and something from a friend of my moms called calendula and boneset. (know what those are now)

My second ds got all of his even though I told the dr NO. I didn't know it wasn't illegal or I would have stood up like I should have. I was worried about all the kids. He told me he would have cps waiting to take my son and cops there to arrest me. Now I learned from my oldest exp to keep the lot numbers. in fact demand them. One of the many many things he was shot up with turned out to be the same Hep B lot that the senator filed a lawsuit on his grandson's behalf. VERY illegal amounts of the aluminum btw By the time we found out about the compensation etc it was too late Mr. Bush changed it and I could only get the neuro to say 'off the record that did it/he shouldn't have anymore"

Well in less than 36 hours someone came and took our son away. This is the best description of what happened we can think of. ALL speech patterns went out the window. He became almost totally mute. Then the head banging started, the circles. the spinning, the stacking. The sensory integration disorder. the having to use hold therapy. The normal happy toddler was gone.....
and i was pg with his brother. Who now they say has some of the same thing. I did make one mistake with vax and him. I was still learning at the time. but the tester thinks a good chunk is just that he patterned off the older brother so knows no difference on some things. They are 15 mos apart.
so of course he looked to him more than dd or ds who were huge giants.

Tracy let me know this thread was here.
If I can protect even one child from what we went through ...

and I myself don't do the flu or pneumonia vax. In fact my PA and PCP highly discourage it.

Any questions?
