I remember DS nursing all the time but seriously, this baby nurses ALL. THE. TIME! There is maybe 20 minutes in between sessions. How often is your newborn nursing?:2bfbabe::

Judah nurses anywhere from "constantly" to every 3 hours. It varies alot! When he's fussy or tired he can nurse and then pass out and nurse again then sleep some more... back and forth forever. But then when he's sleeping really well he may sleep 2-3 hours or so without a peep!

My MW asked one day how many times/day he nursed and I could NOT figure it out! It's hard to call it just one number, and it certainly changes day to day.

Oh, and Judah's definitely my best sleeper so far! My others were up a LOT more often to nurse!

DD1 wouldn't nurse more than a few minutes every three hours but I had a friend who had trouble getting off the couch long enough to go to the bathroom because her DS wouldn't stop nursing --ever! When he mastered nursing in the sling it was such a huge relief.

Brennon is nursing every 3 1/2-4 hours during the day. At night he sometimes goes up to 6 hours in between feedings.. He is a great nurser and the extra sleep is GREAT!!! I couldn't imagine feeding him every 20 minutes!! I'd go nuts!! I noticed with my first that when I nursed more often ( every hour or so) he was more fussy... so I tried to hold him off until 3 hours. I found out quickly that when I did that he ate better and went longer periods without wanting to nurse... plus he slept better and was less fussy... Maybe you could try that...

I remember Sofie nursing constantly like that. She would nurse for ten minutes, nap for 20, switch sides and repeat. For five hours at a stretch. :

It was pretty intense, but she was also growing like crazy, so I figured she needed it!

Asher is nursing crazy times. First thing in the morning he nurses constantly....then around lunch he will go 2 hours in between....then at 6pm-7pm he starts nursing constantly until around midnight....then at night he will go 3 hours between sessions.

Atleast he gives me a few hours break during the night, but during the day DD really wants more attention! He is also a ladies man....he will cry as soon as DH holds him but when I take him back it stops immediately. I was in the shower last night and heard him crying so I start to hurry up then he stops....I came down to see that our neighbor came over and he fell asleep for her!

Not seeing too much of a pattern yet but Wren seems to nurse in batches and then takes long sleeps, regardless of what time of the day. My milk came in on tues. Before milk, it was ALL the time!

Daniel is 2 wks 1 day old and nurses every 1 1/2 - 3 hrs now - just after he was born though he was *cluster* feeding a ton more than now. He does nurse on both sides aat most feedings (10-15 min each side - I just wait until he "pops" himself off the boob vs me deciding if/when he is done)

At his 2 day check up he was 7lbs 10 oz and on Tues he was 8lbs 14 oz so we figure he is doing just what he needs

His big sister (now 10) was a non stop nurser from the day she was born until she self weaned as a toddler - I felt like she was attached to my boobs 24/7 rofl

I was just going to say something about this. She nurses ALL THE TIME!!! Every 20 minutes or so. Thankfully last night she did one hour stretches but man my nipples hurt so bad. I'm not sure if my milk is in yet but I think it is because of how often she does it. The ends of my nipples are bruised and I don't know what we're doing wrong! This is my 3rd, it shouldn't be this hard

Same here. Sometimes I feel like all I'm doing is nursing. And then when I'm not nursing, I just want to eat.
