38 weeks with twins!

Well, I've made it this far! If the babies don't start coming today, we're going to have to call MIL and have her change her flight, since we don't want her here for the birth. Everyone thought the babies might come sooner- lots of hoping for Libras. I'm hanging in there fine- it's just more painful lying down at night and the skin on my belly will never be the same. :

We went out to a movie last night thinking that would maybe get some labor going. We started doing acupuncture Monday just to get things all preped (my partner and I are both acupuncturists). The babies measured 7 pounds (estimated on ultrasound) a week ago! How big are these guys going to get? They feel pretty content in there to me.

Last night I really started thinking about the birth- about what a big event/experience is about to happen- including the fact that I'm going to see MY BABIES for the first time. I'm going to be a MOM. This is all quite amazing!!!

Wow! I am glad they are sticking around so long! 7 lbs each sounds GREAT!!! I just wonder how much more they can grow in there. How are you feeling?

Not in your DDC but am a Mama of twins so had to chime in. Great job at making it to 38 weeks!! My girls were born at 38w3d (induced due to high bp something I now wouldn't have done...live and learn) and were 7 pound'ers. You're going to LOVE being the Mama to twins. It's an AMAZING journey...one I wouldn't trade for the world!!

Yay! Way to grow those babies! I'll hit the 38 week mark next Tuesday (which is also my bday). I never thought I'd make it this far!

I hear you on the skin on your belly and being uncomfortable. I actually feel worse after getting up in the morning...laying down is so uncomfortable!

Not in your DDC, but congrats on your twin boys going so far along!

My own mama carried my twin brothers to 40 weeks, 7 1/2 pounds and 7 pounds, drug-free vaginal birth to both, even though #2 started coming out arm first (she had a great OB)!
