I plan to get my children (ages 9, 6 and 3) a big play kitchen for their holiday gift this year. I was wondering if anyone have one the love and could tell me about. I want it to last a long time and be lots of fun for all of them.

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

We have a sink/stove, fridge, and microwave made by Small World Toys. You can see the sink/stove and fridge here. It has gotten 2 years of hard play, is in great shape, and we all love this kitchen set.
For play food and other accessories, our favorites have been the wooden food from Haba, metal pans/utensils from Target (nicer size than the dinky ones I've seen elsewhere), and lots of recycled food containers from our own kitchen.
For dishes we have an old set that my grandmother used to use for camping.

We have that one from Small World Toys too. It gets a lot of use. It is sized well for older kids. We've had it for 2 years and it still looks brand new and it gets a lot of use. My biggest complaint is that the cabinet under the sink is hard for the littler ones to open.

It is two years old now (almost 3, actually) and it gets a lot of hard use! The kids love it.

My dd's first play kitchen was just a Little Tikes one and that was fine while she was a toddler. When she started to grow out of it she had very clear ideas about what she wanted for her next kitchen. The oven must be big enough to fit her play cookie sheet (KidKraft). There must be a sink and a stove top and there must be counter space to actually make something. I wanted a kitchen set that had an oven that opened like a real oven (handle at the top opening down - not from the side like a cupboard). I had no idea how hard it would be to find a kitchen set like this! We ended up with this kitchen set with the matching refrigerator. It meets all the criteria, is very durable, and, I think, very attractive. The sink is a removable plastic tub so you can actually put water in it (from the real sink). My dd loved it. She doesn't play with it as much now, but she still does sometimes and it still looks and works great. They also have it in natural wood if that one is too princessy.

There are a bunch of different kitchens at the Costco website. I like the pink one - if we didn't have the one my dad made us when we were kids, I'd get that for my son in a heartbeat - he likes pink!

Oompa....does anyone have this one? I was wondering about quality because the price is certainly good!
