I don't even know if this is the right place to post this...Hoping so...
I need to ask a question for a friend. She had an old car that had about 230,000 miles on it & it broke down. She was told by a couple mechanics it would cost more to fix than it was worth. She ended up selling it to some guy, signed over the pink & everything. She just found out from the DMV (this is California, BTW) that the car is still registered in her name. Now, a few moves later, she no longer can find his info. She's really worried & doesn't know what to do. She contacted DMV & they gave her a form. She filled it out w/ new owner's info listed as 'unknown', but they wouldn't accept it. We're not getting any clear answers.
I don't know what to tell her & I was really hoping some of you might have some advice?
Thanks!
