alternatives to sensodyne?

i went to the dentist today because i have been experiencing tooth pain and was told that my gums are receding. it was suggested that i use some chemy toothpaste called sensodyne. does anyone know of any natural alternatives for teeth and gums?

I have receding gums too. I did the sensodyne (actually aquafresh sensitive cause it was cheaper ) thing for a while, but with being aware of/reducing teeth clenching and switching to a soft toothbrush and using natural toothpastes (kiss my face is my favorite) I have no more sensitivity. If I go on vacation or whatever, and end up using a mainstream toothpaste I find that it comes back.
