Does she know what she's talkin' about, or am I a doofus?

I'm pretty educated in labor and birth and am currently undergoing my clinical rotation for L&D for nursing school.

Under birth complications our instructor listed 'Dystocia' and defined this as any difficult labor/birth..??? I've never heard it used in this way before. She made no mention of shoulders getting stuck, or baby getting stuck, just 'difficult birth'.

I've only heard of shoulder dystocia. Is there more than one kind of dystocia? She gives us bogus information on other topics all the time so I don't readily trust her as a source of information (isn't that sad!). I hoped someone could clarify.

Help?
