Dd really likes horses. So why is it so hard to find nursing animal dollies/figures, but I can find all sorts of horsies with pacifiers and bottles?

Weird ... You're finding horse toys with bottles? Am I misunderstanding?

Yes. My little ponies now come with pacifiers or bottles. "Furreal" panda bears and kittens and others come with bottles too.

unfortunately no horses, but maybe your dd likes dogs, cats or pigs, too?

go to:
http://www.manhattantoy.com/
and search for the word "nursing".
there's "nursing nana" (the dog), "nursing nina" (the cat) and "nursing nuna" (the pig), and they are all soooo cute.

we have the dog with the puppies, and dd loves them. the mother has multiple magnetic nipples, so the babies can choose where they want to nurse. and the babies can also "nurse" on the fridge door.

Oh my gosh, those are darling! (Though I have to admit, I think the My Little Pony is cute, too ... but I'm an EPer, so I don't have a lot of problems with bottles!)

We have the "Nursing Nana" nyxx linked - she's fabulous. My daughter likes to nurse Nana while Nana nurses her puppies.

Ooh...if you're handy with a sewing machine, you could make a stuffed horse with a magnet in the abdomen and a baby horse with a magnet in her snout...(lol, I think I'm on a crafting kick!) and the baby would nurse if they got close enough together!

I've only ever seen them with bottles/pacis also. Weird.

Exactly.

And how are our little human girls supposed to feed their MLPs that don't come with MLP mommies? With bottles, of course.

Not that it means anything to my daughter. She still nurses her MLPs when it's feeding time.

I had forgotten about those nursing animals!! DD had wanted those SO badly earlier this summer when she spotted them at our cool local toy store. A definite Christmas add. My DD feeds with bottles, BUT she always pumps first! I WOH part-time, her only notion of what goes in bottles is pumped BM. She'll talk about it in her play, it's very cute

Aww!! I want one for myself!

You didn't say how old your son is, but he might like Breyer horses. They're realistic looking model horses and they have a "mare and foal" set where the foal is nursing:

When I googled "breyer mare and foal nursing" I saw that a few were available on ebay- but you can buy them new too. They were offered in different colors over the years so you might find an "older" one you like more than the currently available color.
