Interesting convo with perinatologist...

About VBA2C. Long story short, for medical reasons, it's not advisable for me to go "overdue", so we had been planning a scheduled c-section, with a "let's see how it goes" contingency on the off chance I went into labor naturally before 39 weeks. I really wasn't counting on early labor, I went over with dd, and my mom went over with all of us, so I was working on being ok with the "belly birth" while keeping some VBAC plans in the back of my mind, just in case.

But lately he seems to think it's quite possible I will go early naturally, so I wanted to clarify this "let's see how it goes" thing a bit more. Kind of wondering if he was just paying lip service to the VBA2C idea, ya know? So I questioned him some more, asking if I'd really get a "trial of labor", or just be rushed off to the OR. He said it was mostly up to me. I said I'd strongly prefer a vaginal birth, and he said he agreed, that he tends to favor vaginal births as well! Holy crap, why didn't I ask sooner? I guess there's been too much on my mind with all the other stuff going on.

I'm not getting my hopes up too high. I think the odds are still pretty good that I'll end up with the c-section, BUT I'm definitely more optimistic now than I was before we had this chat. I actually went out and bought some EPO, and I'm thinking of getting RRL tea too. I'm not allowed to have sex right now due to some minor non-baby-related surgery, but as soon as I get the ok for that, I'm gonna start working on that angle too. Gotta check out what spicy foods I can work into this GD diet. Maybe, just maybe, if the baby is ready, this will work out.

As much as I want my baby to come soon, I think I'll send any early baby vibes I might have your way! What a great thought that you will get your VBAC!

Some reason for optimism for a VBAC is certainly reason to celebrate. Here's wishing you moderately early labour vibes.
