After baby flip, my pubic bone feels like it is splitting in two

So my baby was lying sideways forever. SHe finally flipped heads down this week and settled nice and low. The sudden weight on my cervix is horrible. I kind of remember it with DD1, but I think because it was gradual instead of, now I am not there, and now I am, it didn't seem as severe.

But the sudden pressure there is horrid. Hurts to stand up and move!

Yes. You are not alone.

I'm sorry - it's terrible, isn't it!!

Yeah. One thing you can do to temporarily relieve the pressure is doing some easy yoga poses, like getting on hands and knees, down dog, or wide-legged forward fold. If you are interested, I'll send you links with pictures.

I would love some links. My pubic bone is back to hurting again these past few days. I think, in part, because it has been so damp and rainy here- it's an arthritic feel like I have in my hips and knees.... so basically I'm incapacitated from the waist down- man, I walk funny!! And getting out of bed HUUUUURTS so much!!!

I know downward dog, but not the other one.

Thanks!!

Ditto! That would be awesome. I will crawl through the rest of this pregnancy.

I think my baby engaged a few weeks ago now. For a little over the past week, my groin/pubic area has been incredibly sore. I feel like I might as well have had the baby already. That's how sore I am at times. My pubic bones are very sore upon waking or if I sit/lay in one position too long. I didn't experience this type of soreness with my other girls.

Glad it's not only me. I don't remember this from my daughter, but that was also 8 years ago. Or maybe that with her is was gradule pressure I got used to vs suddenly baby head is right there and OUCH. I tried rolling over last night, which is normally not an issue, and I thought I tore something loose in my pelvis..lol.

maybe this has something to do with when babies are head down and real deep in there...mine has been like this forever and i feel like you do. i waddle so horribly due to this pain and i get this burning sensation inside my inner upper thigh by my vagina on the left side if i move a certain way or flip over in bed...i have to be real careful or just bear with the pain as i move...it really is something. i think this is symphosis pubis. had it with megh too. ouch. i just hope it doesn't affect laboring/birthing vaginally...it hurts!!!!!! i avoid moving around too much cuz of this not to mention these stupid maternity pants don't want to stay up anymore...

I dealt with it when I was pg with S (not at all with G) and am suffering even more now, b/c of the extra weight, I'm sure. It is miserable! I read/heard it gets worse with every pregnancy.

It sucks, I know. I am ok when I sit or lay, but when I stand up fast I feel like I have a baseball in the top of my vagina and my bones ache. Not to mention I MUST get to the bathroom STAT when I stand up.

Maybe I'm an exception to the rule..but it has not gotten worse with every pregnancy here. It's actually gotten progressively easier with the last three pregnancies (this being one of them).

When I was pregnant with the second, it was pretty painful. With the third, I really messed myself up by trying to move a heavy bag filled with clothes by kicking it. I could hear the ligament tear (sounded like a distinct crack) and I just fell down in tears. I iced it for days and was very immobile for the last several weeks of the pregnancy. These last three times I have refrained from doing anything stupid like that and I have had much less of a problem than I had with the second and third babies.

It still hurts to turn over in the middle of the night, though, and those first few steps can be a doozy until I get warmed up.

Yup, yup, yup. Worse since baby is head down. Much sharper pain now, even though baby hasn't even dropped yet.

I love it! I know that sounds crazy, but it tells me my baby is getting ready to meet me. DS was breech until 39 weeks and it was horribly stressful. I love knowing that this one is head down!
