I think my view is skewed, but then my son was 9-15. I'm really glad I didn't know he was so big (they did a weight estimate but said he was 8 pounds or so), because there's so much fear instilled about big babies. As it was, I birthed him just fine and I was on my back, with an epidural and I didn't even tear (had midwives who were more patient with pushing, at least). When they called out 9-15, I was stunned. Here's the real kicker, when I was pregnant with him, I still smoked. I'm not saying it's a good idea (though he's had no ill results as we can tell - thank god!), but I did...and he was 10 pounds. I quit well before this pregnancy. I'm doing a UP (except for the one US that confirmed he's a boy), so I have no idea what their weight estimate is, but I know that smoking reduces birth weight and I know that my belly is HUGE, even compared to last time, and none of it is squishy, like he's taking up all the space.
Rambling, anyway, my point is, it's really rare for our bodies to make babies they can't birth. I'm tall and thick and so is my husband. My son is 7 and weighs 85 pounds and is taller than most 10 year olds. I figure this one is between 11 and 12 and I'm not scared. He's my baby and I will birth him.

Of course, he could be like 7 pounds and I just have a HUGE placenta!
