Let's see the pix! You must have a map or two hanging on the wall as well. Art work? We have a little area we set up with art supplies, sketcchbooks etc (well, our whole little house looks like people are reading and engaging, including the bathroom) that I would love to show, but I have no idea how to post pix.

Most of our learning goes on in the living room, but we have some storage set up in the hall. That box on the dog crate contains Ds's workbooks and reading books I have lined up.

Please excuse the open walls, DH just put in those new windows.
Also, note the backpack under the chess table in the *learning chair* pic, that is where DD keeps her current work.

OK, DH finally brought home the camera cord.

View One
Those games on the top shelf look really unsafe, LOL! I'll take care of that tomorrow. This is where we eat as well. Note mismatched chairs.

One shelf has a little altar; next to that is our nature table.

Plastic! *gasp* The multi-colored one we use more for the top than for what's inside. The other one stores all sorts of paper.

I think you can actually own too many books.

On the other side is our little "listening center" with books on tape. I need to find a new place for it though, because Nicholas always wants to listen when we're doing school, and the tape player doesn't have a headphones jack.

What wonderful rooms! I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to set up in the diningroom which is is the room you enter when coming through the front door OR in the nook which is directly off the kitchen and large enough for a classroom.

I think I'm leaning more towards putting it in the nook and having my diningroom look "nice" for visitors.

wow mama! I'm jealous! I'll be jealous on my daughters behalf as well. We JUST started, haven't even really yet, so we need some time to get it together, but when we do I hope one day we'll have a room like this one!

We have a huge house, but not a single room we can use for home school. We use the office as a base, but we use the diningroom and kitchen tables alot.

Here's ours
of course, it's missing photos of the floor, important part of our learning area, with it's array of puppet piles and Legos spread out on a blanket.
All our areas are spread around the house. I need a big comfy over-stuffed chair with a big canopy over it with a lamp: my "dream" reading area. We're making do with a pretend beanbag chair: all our sleeping bags stuffed into a sheet and closed with a rubber band

We're just starting, so I haven't even mentioned a schoolroom to her yet. Lessons are usually at the table, on the floor, on my bed, on the table in their playroom, everywhere. The playroom will someday house all her school stuff, but I think we'll continue to do lessons wherever we are. Currently, her little lesson books and pencils are in one of those plastic storage drawers that my sister left here months ago.
So for now, here's the apple tree wall that we painted in their playroom for Christmas. We'll be putting up white shelves in the room soon for storage.
