Right now my mom and MIL are here visiting and this morning my mom was saying how she was due Nov 25, and her mom thought she'd come on Thanksgiving, then thought she'd come on her birthday, then on my grandpa's birthday (Dec 10), then on someone else's birthday (Dec 17) but she decided to make her appearance Dec 14. My brother and I were both induced (me after my mom's water broke 1 week early but no contractions came, my brother for PIH.) So, I asked my mom what the earliest one of her siblings was born, and the latest was... get this, earliest = 2 days overdue, latest = 4 weeks overdue!!!! So that's why there's nothing going on! I'm genetically predisposed to keep the baby in longer!

ETA: My grandmother had 12 children, so these are some serious numbers here!

There's a lot to be said for genetics.

My mom had 8, her longest was 4 weeks overdue as well. Shortest was about a week. I was 18 days late myself.

So when I e-mailed her that I was still pregnant she was understandably nonchalant about it. Of course I told her that Doc's are different now and they wouldn't let me go that long, her answer was "Just don't go in to be induced. They aren't going to send the cops after you."

I love my mom.

You could be lucky, I'm adopted but my mom was always early and my sis always late so who knows?
