When our dd was a baby dh and I were out with another couple and the subject of circumcision came up. By the end of the evening, dh was ADAMENT about not circing. Of course, at the time there was no baby on the horizon, so it didn’t really matter. Early in this pregnancy, DH mentioned that he’d been thinking and with the possibility of having a boy, he was reconsidering. He cited all the usual suspects (some guy he knew in High School who hated being intact, a friend of a friend who’s been circumcised as a teenager, etc). We argued a bit, but neither of us was backing down. Finally I decided that I would choose my battles and that I’d wait until we were sure that we were having a boy. THEN I’d bring out the big guns. As we were dropping it, dh mentioned that if I could find information, he’d read it and think it over. Fine.

A few weeks ago I was surfing around trust MDC and decided that I’d email a few article s to him….not really sure if he’d actually read them.
Last Sunday, I returned from a weekend out of town. I was tired and achy and decided to jump in the tub. DH came in 5 minutes later, sat on the edge of the tub, and said “I have good news”. When I asked what, he replied “I don’t want to circumcise. I think it’s disgusting. I read the article that you sent me, and then I did some more research….why would anyone do that to a baby?????”
I am SO relieved that we’ve come to an agreement. Of course, this guarantees that this baby will be a girl!
