What a stressful situation for you, but I'm glad you will get to go home soon. Congratulations on your baby!

We live near Miramar, so we're in the clear there. I was really freaked out when I heard they were evacuating Miramar, until I found out they were just moving aircraft (they're a little harder to move than people, lol.)

My SIL down there flew up to San Fran but she lives near the beach- I heard from DH that they think the fires will go all the way to the coast? Is that true? My other SIL is a fire fighter and is down there fighting those fires, she also lives in SD. It's just nuts, I have seen photos and I can't even fathom what it must be like- no less with a newborn. How is Emily through all the transition?

Emily is doing better than I expected and worse than Kevin did, lol. Kevin thinks she's regressed big time, but I don't really see it that badly. She's had a lot to handle, between the new baby and going to a hotel for no reason (like she would understand any reason anyways.) She's been jealous of the baby, but she loves Lana and wants to play with her, hold her, tell her everything is going to be ok. Lana is a squealer, and unfortunately Emily finds it just hilarious (which annoys Lana even more, makes her squeal louder, it's a vicious cycle!) I'm just taking it one day at a time, trying to be very patient with Emily while she works through everything.
