Did we ever hear if the doctor in Boston passed her test?

I never saw any news reports on this. Did the doctor who sued for more time to take her medical license test (sorry I can't remember the exact name of the test) pass said test? After all the media coverage, I was very interested to hear her results.

I think she took her test pretty recently, so I'm not sure if she's gotten the results back yet.

Dr. Currier took the test a couple weeks ago, with the extra breaks for pumping that she had requested and been awarded.

I haven't heard whether she passed the test or not, but to be honest I think it's none of my business and irrelevent to the cause of lactivism. The important thing is that there is now an established precedent for lactation accommodations for this exam.

You're probably right. It probably is none of my business. But I'm just a nosy gal! And to be honest, whether or not she passed will influence my personal thoughts on that one particular case.

songbh,
It should be irrelevant but if she has to take the test again it may reinforce the perception by some that she needed the extra time to gain an advantage and not because of the possibility of engorgement or infection.

And while it may not be any of our business, if she did pass it would be nice to acknowledge her success and celebrate it since it would be an affirmation of Working &/or Student moms that nurse.

I have heard nothing on this. When I took my IBCLC boards it took almost 3 months to get results. My RN results got listed after three days though. So who knows whatthe wait could be for her to find out. I wish her the best of luck though, bc those tests are so stressful, and the waiting period is excruciating!

I can't imagine taking a test while I was pregnant or now, my brain just doesn't work quite like it used to.

She has taken down her blog and there is nothing in the Boston press later than Oct 10, the day she was supposed to start taking the exam. I think that if she passed, it would be reported in the local press and if she failed, we won't hear about it.

She is scheduled to start her residency at MGH in November, contingent upon passing the exam, so the hospital would need to know the results as soon as possible for personnel planning purposes.

My sister recently took her first round of medical boards. They told her 3-5 weeks for results, and I think she ended up getting them around 3 1/2 weeks.

when i took the boards, usmle step 1 took 8 weeks to get back, step 2 took only 4 weeks to get back, and step 3 took 5 weeks to get back. but i have heard of people who have gotten results back sooner than that.
i really hope she passed!!! those tests are horrible enough without the added stress she had!
