I can't even imagine how heartbreaking it would be to have my little ones say, "mommy I'm hungry" as I am putting them to bed, and not be able to run to the kitchen to get them a snack. I'd buy the 0.89 hot dogs in a second.
If you are put off by something, there is a gentler way to put it regarding this topic.

Thank you. I was getting ready to post a similar, although probably not as well-worded response.
I haven't tried to price out her menu entirely - however, most of the prices are consistent with items at the Dollar Stores in the area - e.g. mac cheese is 3/$1 and eggs are $1 dozen (I believe she also states to use medium eggs, not large). Lentils are 2 or 3/$1 per pound. Not sure about hotdogs, margerine, etc....
It's a luxury to be able to afford organics or local produce or $25 boxes of dried milk (

: - it is way cheaper here even at Whole Foods) or whatever. This is an *Emergency* menu and I am sure there are many mamas here who have had times of needing to stretch their food dollars. Afterall, we have all seen the pantry challenges and posts about cooking rice and beans to make $12 strech to payday.
