maybe....
a hemoglobinometer
a carry all bag- check out the hemp at ecolution. I love their stuff.
a scale
massage oils/herbs and stuff you would offer mamas- earthmamaangelbaby has yummy organics.

For your birth bag:
a separate carry bag
Tinctures & homeopathics
a baby scale & sling

Have fun!

If you're going to ask for instruments, ask for good ones, a good set will last a lifetime with care. Especially a good needle holder and top notch scissors. Nothing sucks more than trying to suture with a crappy needle holder. Don't ask for the "kit", neither one of them is very good and has several items you will probably never use. Since someone else is buying, ask for German-made! Miltex or Koenig.

Just for ideas, my instrument kits have 1 8" Rochester Pean curved forceps, a Hesseltine cord clamp, and a bandage or blunt/blunt scissors. In a seperate pack I have another 8" forceps. In a seperate pack I have an episiotomy scissors (never used!) My suture kits have a needle holder, a suture scissors, and a mosquito forceps.
