Yes, I have a thought.... don't bid against me!

Ok really, I would like to hear if anyone has used either of these and what they think. The prices are really decent.... not sure if that means you are giving up quality or not.

Hi Bebe is awful.......just terrible. Poor sound quality, flimsy, a piece of junk. Okay, I guess, if your a mom who wants to listen, but not for the CP.
I have a sonotrax waterproof that is actually VERY good! Go with the sonotrax.

Ok, I changed my mind.... outbid me, outbid me!!!

Would you say a sonotrax or a huntleigh?
I use a Huntleigh, much better. I bought the sonotrax for the waterproof probe and only use it for waterbirths, I use the Huntleigh for prenatals. For the price, though, the Sonotrax is a great bargain. I heard it's what most midwives use in the UK? Don't know how true that is, but mine works fine.

I have the waterproof Sonotrax but haven't used it much, we usually use the midwife's Nicolet 200. In a way I think the Nicolet head is more ergonomic but I always seem to get that sticky gel all over my hands so I need to practice with my Sonotrax to see if the longer probe helps with that.

So all that to say once I decide which shape probe I like better, and when it's time to replace/upgrade I will likely buy either a Huntleigh or a Nicolet just because they are brands with good reputations.

If you are patient, you will find a good deal on eBay. At one time I saw a replacement head and a doppler that needed a new head on at the same time (different sellers) and the combined auctions with shipping would have been around $150, an excellent price for a Nicolet 200 in excellent condition with a brand new 3mhz probe.

eta: I forgot to say that I thought the hi-bebe looked cheapo and that's why I didn't bid on one.

The second auction is a relabeled Sonotrax w/waterproof 2mHz probe. It's the one I have. It is the Sonotrax, they just put the Stork Radio label on it for resale (I found approval for SR to do so on the FDA website and the book that came with the doppler confirmed that it's the Sonotrax). HTH.

I'm thinking maybe the first auction Sonotrax does not have WP probe.

Neither one of them has a WP probe, but this one does

i eailed the seller for both and they both said it does have a waterproff probe

I have the booklet for that Sonotrax and it's waterproof (the probe is, not the whole unit obviously). Actually all of the Sonotrax in that series have a waterproof probe according the book from Edan Instruments. Even the 3mHz probe is WP which I thought was interesting- esp if you don't want to have to carry two dopplers, one for a 3mHz probe and one for a WP probe.

The auction does not say it's WP, but I contacted the seller (that's the same seller I bought from) and they confirmed that it's a WP probe and once it arrived I checked it over and the probe has 2mHz waterproof molded into the probe.

If you can spend the ~$60 more, you might be happier with the Huntleigh, I dunno.
