I found a "model" I liked the shape of, traced it onto pattern paper, and cut it out on flannel and terry. I then edge it in bias tape. Voila! Insta bib...and it's VERY absorbant. you could easily embroider on the flannel part. I have!
I make bibs too. They are really easy. I do flannel on one side and terry on the other. You could probaby make nice size ones much cheaper than buying quality bibs to embroider. And that way, you could embroider one side, sew them together and you wouldn't have the "back" of the embroidery showing.
take a bandana and cut it in two triangles. Hem the cut edge. Then sew one triangle to a washcloth. The point of the triangle faces the bottom of the wascloth and the other points form ties.
