I'm half scared to take everyone out with the fear of stomach bugs and flus but staying in is killing me and certainly killing DS1. There is a lot of Halloween stuff going on this weekend I'd like to take DS1 (and of course DS2 would come too) to but I'm not sure. How often and to where are you taking your LO out and how old is your LO?

DD is 2 weeks old. I take her out some but keep her in a sling so people don't touch her! I need to get out for my mental health. Bedrest for 6 weeks before she was born nearly sent me over the edge! We're not going out that much though..

Not really, because there really isn't anywhere to go/anything to do. Dh has been off work for 2w so he's taken care of everything. We do walk around the neighborhood every other day. It's still really hot here
like over 90 every day, I'm looking forward to when it cools down a little!

We went to IKEA the other day. I had her in the sling--but you could see her head. I was sitting on a bench in a large, pretty much empty return waiting area. Some guy came over, sat practically ON TOP OF ME.. and started hacking without even covering his mouth!
I've never been that kind of person to get up and move away from people.. but EWW! I wanted to go sit in the car while my husband shopped!

I've been taking DD out since she was about 5 days old, but only to get groceries and walk around the neighborhood/go to the little store on the corner. Some random uninvited old lady gave me grief about taking her to Walmart though, and someone else gave me a dirty look when I was trying to get her out of the tube sling (she was screaming - NOT because of the sling, but because she was hungry and had been in there asleep perfectly fine for almost an hour already and I am not comfortable BFing in public so was trying to wait until we got to the car - we were otw to the check out)
Like the PP said, I cant stay inside, I just cant. After not being able to move for months and having so many aches and pains and health concerns, I NEED to get out of the house, and I dont think it is going to hurt DD, as long as nobody touches her/gets closer to her (which wont happen since she's in the sling whenever we go anywhere)
I'm walking a very fine line now though trying to avoid a reoccurance of postpartum depression, so its really important to our family that I can stay sane and be sane when DH is ready to go back to work.

I've taken my DD out but she's been in a sling so not many people have touched her.
It helps that it is spring here now and the weather is warming up so most of the bugs should be going away.
I've just been militant about people washing hands before they touch DD and if they have colds not to come close.

My MW said I should stay in for 2 weeks, and I mostly did... though we went to DS1's baseball game at 9 days (a little walking then sitting outside), and did one or two other things before the 2 wk mark. One day in there I really did feel like I'd done too much, and was NOT willing to do more after that. But since 2wks, life all around has gotten easier and we've been out pretty much as normal - church, home group, picking up DS2 from school, shopping, etc. DS turned 4 wks today and people are STILL looking at me like I'm crazy to be out!! I just tell them the birth went well and recovery was easier this time than ever before, so I'm feeling quite fine, thanks!
(Someone today told me not to let DS "catch colic" in this cold wind. Huh?

We've been out since she was born practically. On Monday we didn't really go anywhere (except the hotel) and ordered pizza in. On Tuesday dh took MIL and Emily out during the day, but we went out for dinner, and we went out for dinner on Wednesday after spending the day at home (just Lana and me.) Yesterday we went to IKEA and Babies R Us to get some things, so she's been out since she was less than 24 hours old.

My dd is 1.5 weeks old and we went out at 6 days old. I was put on bed rest for a week to let my tare heal on it's own so I was going nuts! I have to get outside and it's starting to get colder here so I need to get out before I get stuck inside. Mostly we've just walked to the mailbox and played out on the playground (I live in an apartment) Today we took the boys to a park and I've been to Toys R Us to get a few things.
This weekend we will be trick or treating at the zoo and another local place. I'm just trying to start out slow and then get going more.

We have only been out once to go to a doctors appointment, but this Sunday there is a Halloween parade downtown that my older one really wants to go to, and I would love to go do something outside as well so I think we will go. Luke will be six days old. The only thing I'm really concerned about is that it may be hard to NIP because I am really sore right now and I'm used to feeding him on the comfy couch.

We went outside on her b-day (she was born at 12 am so it was sort-of the next day but not really) because it was so nice outside. I had her in the Moby and we just sat out there. Nothing to big. I am waiting another week before going anywhere with too many people, and even then I will keep her in the wrap and not really be in contact with too many people.
We do have a lot of visitors though. We are getting a meal every night from someone different for 3.5 weeks.

Ds is a month old now. We had him out with us at the neighbourhood park from a few days old. We've had him out to visit family regularly, and shopping a few times.
