Eeek - frozen meals and a dead fridge!!

I am SO glad I sent DS down to the basement today!!! He came up with a semi cool milk box for school, and a luke warm juice for me. So, I went running down to discover the fridge had died (ok, so it is 30+ years old and avocado colored...I should have checked it more often!!)

But, all 20 something of the frozen meals in the freezer are still rock hard. Phew!! That could have been a major disaster!

I just got back from a local scratch and dent place, and found a winner at $300.
Perfect. DH is going to pick it up on his way home from work!!

This would be my fear right now. Our freezer is packed, dh says we're ready for the apocalypse between that and the pantry. So glad you were able to save your stuff!

It's of my opinion that any appliance that is still here that long (and avacado colored, which I think is really cool) should be given a proper burial because it's gone above and beyond what it was intended to do.

Thank goodness! That would have been AWFUL!

Lucky you found out when you did! Disaster narrowly averted! I'd be so annoyed if all my frozen meals were ruined.

A full freezer will save itself from catastrophie by retaining the cold!

My mom and I were just talking about missing our Flintstones Fridge. It was pretty darn cool, but too small, I wish I knew how old it was. It was yellow, rounded at the top (the freezer compartment was inside) with a PEDAL to open it. Other than having to defrost several inches of ice from the freezer every 2 months it was still going when I last saw it!
