Wrap mat(sandwich bags)?

Has anyone made one of those sandwich wraps like they sell at reusable bags?

I'd like to make some but I'm not sure about the fabric. Is the fabric available at most fabric stores, that would be "wipeable", all full of nasties?

Thanks for any help!

I'm guessing that it might be PUL?

But I don't know if PUL is foodsafe. I emailed Fabrite about that weeks ago and didn't hear a response...

Yeh,that's what I wonder.I'd love to hear what they say if you ever get a response.

I mean I know I put it near my gals bum but to me that's a little different than what goes in her mouth.Or my mom's mouth since I want to make some for her.

Reusable bags say they use food safe PEVA liner but I don't know what that is.Or better yet how to get some.

there's this older thread about it

I remember seeing a year or so back a discussion about using PUL. I can't remember if it was here though or amity mamas?

Here is another thread from a while ago. About three pages long. May have some answers.

I made a bunch for the kiddos lunches. I used PUL on one side and a woven fabric on the other side so they can wipe their faces when they are done. The part that touches their food is the fabric side.

We use them for sandwiches so no, not really. We have 10 or so of them and I just throw them in the wash after each use. I wanted to add that when I sewed them, I put the layers wrong sides together and used bias tape all the way around on some of them and turned and topstitched some others, and they are both holding up equally well.

No, I don't, but I wish I could find it locally. If you do, please let me know. I buy mine through different co-ops.
