since we were discussing them a while back........

No way! My aunt just got us one, too. She'll be so disappointed.

Thanks for the info! I went to look at the recall info, and it looks like it hasn't so much been recalled, as much as they just need to put new warning stickers on the packaging. They are not letting people return them. They are just offering to provide new safety instructions.
I wish I could return the purple one we got with no receipt, but no dice. Target's new return policy stinks. Ah well.

WTH are people doing putting them on top of TABLES anyway???? HELLOO!!!!!!??? Use common sense!
At first I was so bummed! We used ours for our last child and I LOVED it!!: I was so glad to see why they are being recalled. I NEVER would leave him on a table. Duh!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought it was going to have lead or something like that. Fhew!!

It is all over the warning labels as is from what I remember with DS. It is not ever something you put on a table. It is not the makers fault those parents did not listen to the warning! Dumb Dumb Dumb!

I still think it is a great FLOOR product that gave me more wonderful bathroom time, showers, and baths with baby close and happy watching me.

The article won't load for me, but DH was telling me about it from what he saw while at the gym. I am SO not surprised that it's just for misuse. "But the picture on the box said...." Kind of like the old woman who decided to go get some tampons despite being a couple decades after menopause, when her husband asked she said "Well, the commercial said I'd be able to go swimming and horseback riding."

I don't know what is more ridiculous, that people are putting the bumbo on tables/chairs/etc, or that they are RECALLING them because they need a sticker update.

C'mon people! Its a chair without a strap! What part of that is confusing? Don't put it on a table, and don't leave your tiny kiddo unattended. Do you really need a sticker to tell you that?!? :

Finally!! : Too bad its just for a sticker!!

I still believe that a child will sit up when its ready, and this is another product that forces independence too soon.

Duh...

I got one as a baby gift. We don't have space for a high chair so I'll use it for that.

I'd NEVER leave my child unattended sitting in ANYTHING on a table. There is this little thing called 'common sense' apparently these parents don't have any.

When will people learn?
SP wouldn't stay in it; whenever she sit, she tries to stand , so the Bumbo didn't work for us. But I do think it's a good product for those who use it correctly.

Better yet, just don't sit your child in anything on a table

LOL, we don't even have a kitchen table...no space. I might put her in it on the coffee table so I can feed her when she's old enough since we don't have space for a high chair and I had a hard time feeding James when he was on my lap (baby food obviously)

There are some cool boosters with trays now that strap onto a regular chair.

Personally I don't think that the bumbo would be a good eating place- the positioning is so odd AND once they're old enough for solids they're going to be pretty dangerous in a bumbo (able to get out easily)

My sister just bought us one while she was here this past weekend to visit from NC. I'm still uncertain about it and was only planning to use it VERY occasionally after baby is already trying to sit. I might return it though. It came from Target and I do have the receipt.

I've used one for every boy instead of a high chair because it's so washable, folds easy to travel, space saving and was always around $20 or so. So I had one 12 years ago with my first!

Leave it on the floor or strap to a chair. Baby just needs to be able to sit up.

We used one for dd at grammy's house and it worked quite well.

See, I would get one knowing that it was something a child could get out of. DS used one at a friends house and while he *could* get out of it, he thought it was quite novel and would get in one and just be happy to chill whenever we encountered them.
