The Toe and the Public School: - Page 4

So what has happened with this?
My son (previously homeschooled) got some negative comments from his English teacher for missing 5 days of school the first quarter--all but one because of illness (one long weekend he went out of state to visit family with Dad). Do they really expect us to send in a sneezing, hacking, feverish kid (their manual says not to send them w/ fever) who can't concentrate and only needs sleep? He got an A nonetheless, so why make a fuss about it?

My theory is that some people don't feel secure enough about their own importance in life, so they need to grab all the authority they can get in their job, etc.

Yeah, right, my sister had a cast on her foot for almost 3 months. She broke it while competing at the State Gymnastic Championships. My mom took her complaint all the way to the school board and the superindentant. She vowed to go all the way to the State Board of Education if the school did not rectify the problem and restore my sister's 4.0. They did.
