When the baby drops...

is it obvious? DH said to me yesterday "wow, looks like the baby dropped. She is much lower!" but isn't that something I would have noticed? I feel like a flipping HOUSE lately- just big all over. I didn't notice her being any lower.

What does it feel like when it happens?

More pressure on your bladder and pelvic area, easier to breathe since baby isn't up so far in your ribs...

Ya got me... some 22 year old kid (male) at the Safeway check out told me that my baby had dropped. I think I'm just going to shop at Safeway from now on instead of going to see my midwife.

I'm going to ask at my next appt, if I remember. Maybe it means that baby is engaged, I don't know. I'm feeling more pressure on my lower pelvis today.

This thread title has put "When the Levee Breaks" in my head.... When the baby drops, he'll have no place to go. Etc.

I'm going to my happy place to sing Led Zeppelin now.

You may be onto something. The safeway kid probably makes... what, like $7/hr? I am going to my local grocery store to consult the bagging boy. I could be saving a FORTUNE in medical bills! :

Ha- that reminds me. I had a baking sheet in my hand with water on it at work today (was making creme brulee in a water bath) and with me being so clumsy, I sloshed some water on the floor. My co-worker came running over asking if my water just broke!

A couple people said something to me today about it looking like I dropped. Uh, I don't know. I have been looking in the mirror all night trying to see if my belly looks lower...is that what they mean?

This just gave me such a laugh.

When I dropped, my pubic bone started hurting much worse, my heartburn was less frequent, and I had to pee more. Now, the heartburn is back because he's grown to fill the space and is under my ribs again!

lol, I just posted this on another board, got pretty much the same answers, but felt silly for asking, like I should know this already!! Glad I'm not alone !!

A couple of days ago the baby dropped - it was really noticeable, it seemed like my belly was pointing down toward the floor! Also, much easier to breathe and more urge to pee. However, the next day baby popped back up again! I didn't know that could happen! little tease!

Dude, I hate to break it to you, but yo ARE a house... someone is living inside you!!!!

To answer your question, though, I noticed when my pubic bone started popping every time I rolled over or got up after too long of sitting.
