I am excited!
I was having some strong contractions today and thought, ok, I might have energy to get things ready but still no baby dresser or changing table ready. As the day went one I fast changed my mind, no way am I ready and I do not have the energy. LOL

So then the long promised hand done dresser/changing table shows up! Lucky lucky lucky me! hehehehehe

So now hubby on the phone says we are ready for baby, till I reminded him all the cloths and diapers and linens still need to be washed. LOL And Curtians hung up.

Anyway, it is black and silver and perfect in it's imperfections. I am thrilled!

I wish I had a before picture.

The dresser was trashed and a friend picked it up knowing I needed one. Talked me into giving him money to fix it up. I really was not sure what he could do but I had seen a huge table he made from scratch and thought it my best and cheepest bet. Did not really hold out hope it would get done though honestly.

The bottom drawer was broken, as where the legs, it was too high to be a changing table, had lots of big broken spots and looked like it had ten layers of ugly powder blue paint on it. In short, it looked like trash. Now it looks like something I would buy new and have to pay a lot of money for. Just so perfect...... he is not thrilled with it actually but he leaves for Korea this weekend and wanted to make sure I got it. Silly guy! He just does not get how perfect it really is.

The most important part, it was made by a friend and tells me I should have more faith.

It really makes it all that more special that it had so much love put into it from a friend! And as for him not being thrilled with it...that just seems the way it is when people do things like that. I know everytime my stepdad has made us a piece he has said the same thing. We are always our own worst critics.

Have so much fun filling it with baby clothes and dipes.

That's nice! We're planning on re-habbing a dresser we already have in a similar way. I like the black... I'm still trying to choose a color to paint it.

Question... How does the changing pad stay on there, is it fixed somehow?

It has rubber pads on the bottom that grip well. I know though that hubby will insist in securing it more, specially as baby gets bigger. Till then it should be perfect.
