My midwives rock! (42+ weeks)

The midwives are soooo awesome! I'm having a hospital birth but they are cool with me being 42 weeks tomorrow. I just had a foley catheter put into my cervix because we are trying to gently induce me (no chemicals because of my c-section). The midwife said just to call on Sat or Sun if I'm not in labor yet and schedule another NST. She did say that around 43 weeks they will probably be getting worried if I'm not showing any signs yet --but that gives me a whole week more to get going!

I went in there today totally prepared to offer them a scheduled c-section on Monday or Tuesday if I could have the weekend to keep trying to go into labor. But it wasn't even an issue. She says that the baby is obviously really healthy and I have a ton of amniotic fluid, as well as a family history of going postdates, so I'm fine to wait.

That is wonderful about your m/w.

It would definitely help you feel more relaxed and that's how it should be.

Happy birthing vibes when the time comes

It is definitely helping me relax.

The baby actually went oblique again while I was there (she's been doing it about once a day but I can move her back fairly easily) but the MW just said that if my water broke I should get my butt in the air and have someone drive me straight to the hospital. She is so great!

I never expected that kind of flexability from a hospital.

Hey! I just had a contraction! I think I'll go for a walk and encourage it along.

So great that they're taking your history and obvious signs of health into account! Hope you're holding that little one soon, though!
