Should I be trying to have more BH?

Strange question I'm sure, but I've realized that I rarely get them and I'm 39 weeks today! They really only show up when I've been either working hard around the house (rarely happens) or when I walk more than 2 or 3 blocks (again, has not been happening to often lately since we bought the van and I seem to have a zillion appts far away that prevent me from walking to our usual spots).

If I was having more BH contractions, would that be preparing my body for labour or is it just going to do it's own thing regardless of how many I have? I'd like to feel like it is starting to think about labour since I certainly am!

After two weeks of BX very often with my son and then a painless labor (Painful 20 mintues from 7cm-birth though) I am enjoying every BX as I hope it means easy to 7 again!

I have been wondering about this also.

Not in your ddc, but I didn't really have an BH at all with my dd#3. The first contractions I felt were the real ones . She was born at 39 weeks + 4 days.

Wishing you all a safe and peaceful birth.
