...to give birth!
My due date was Nov 17. Last night my water broke around 11:15 pm. I finished packing my bags and we got to the hospital around midnight, which is when the 1st contractionm came. I was already dialated to a 4 at my appt a week ago, and my first DD came quite fast so we weren't messing around this time.
Got checked into the hospital, they checked me and I was dialated to 6. Started an IV because I wanted an epi. Contractions got much stronger and closer together pretty quickly. Got the epidural, but had a bit of trouble getting it in. Ended up only relieving the pain by about 25%! I do NOT deal well with pain.
Good thing that on the 3rd pushing contraction she came out!!!
Ellery Paige was born at 1:51 am on 10/26/07. She was 6 lbs, 11 oz and 19 inches long. She was 36 weeks and 5 days.
The pediatrician has already been here and checked her out and she is perfect (of course I already knew that!). So glad to hear that as my first DD had saggital synostosis (bones on top of her head fused at birth) and had to have neuorsurgery at 7 weeks of age. This DD does not! Yea! What a relief to know that!
She's pretty good at breastfeeding, and VERY good at sleeping! She is so quiet and rarely cries! She must get the sleeping from her daddy (who got 5 hours of sleep last night after she was born and I got none! Too much adrenaline, I guess).
Hopefully I'll be able to post pics later today after DH brings the camera cord from home.
Happy Birth Day, Ellery!!
