Yesterday morning October 25, I logged on to credit card company X’s website to pay my bill due on Sunday, October 28.
I put in the due date as printed on the statement, October 28. The website refused the payment, giving a message that the payment must be on a business day.
I tried to pay it using October 25 but the website refused again, giving a message that payments must be scheduled one business day in the future.
No problem, I used Friday, October 26 as the payment date and it was accepted.
The point of my rambling is, had I not started on Thursday to pay a bill due on Sunday, I would have had to schedule the payment one day late (the next business day) and therefore would have incurred a late fee.
Sneaky and I am sure not an accident.
