Weird Q but how does your bowels indicate labor?

Last night I had Ctx fron 6-10:30 every 5 min. But that has happened before. Now today I am crampy and have watery to loose BM's for hours. But some of the BM had a ton of mucus. Any idea why? I have had a few contractions but nothing abnormal other than I feel kinda icky. I'm confused. Could it be a start of labor or am I sick?

I had loose stools this morning too, and my tummy is still gurgly and I just feel off. No contrxs though, other than BHs. I feel your pain and wish I had advice.

Thanks, I have a TON I have to do today. My DH has a b-day on weds and I have to go shopping. But how am I supposed to shop when I feel like I have to use the B-room all the time???:

My labor with DD1 started with a COMPLETE emptying of the bowels I was having mild contractions and with every one I was on the toilet. It lasted a few hours, then contractions really got going.

Is the mucus normal? That is scarring me.

Did you recently eat a lot of something like dairy that you normally wouldn't load up on? sometimes that can cause mucous in the stool.

I wouldn't worry about it otherwise! I am not a doc or MW though, so put a call in if you're really worried.

(Not in this DDC, but) "clearing out" is something almost all mammals I've seen give birth do. The horses will produce what we call "cow pies".. really soft, ploppy (lovely lol) poops... it's one of the signs we watch for. Your body gets everything going and out of the way for the birth.

I have had mucousy poops at various times during this pregnancy, and it's never been a concern of mine.

I was like that yesterday, too. But today I am just fine. I think I had a mild gut bug or something and it stimulated my uterous.

What a crappy day yesterday!!!

I had contractions ALL day every 5min with tons of loose stools and hip and lower back pain. The contractions were very tiring but never got closer or really painfull. I was miserable! I have never had this with any of my babies! I went to the doc, regular appt, and they did a NST and checked me. I'm only 1cm and 60% effaced. I was so bummed!


Today I feel better but the baby is facing the wrong way. She is not engaged yet so DH got me one of thoes balls which lookd HUGE! I'm going to try and get her to turn and go down more!
