I am not sure how to vote. DS is baffling them I guess. I have the pediatric pshyciatrist who says 100% certainty Asperger. Then the (self admittedly very conservative with diagnoses) pediatric neurologist who says "need more testing to rule out this whole huge other list" before he'd give *any* diagnosis. There's also the neurobehaviorist (from the school evaluation) who says PDD-NOS, ADHD, rule out Asperger.
We have two kids on the specturm..
Alli is 4 and has a classic Autism diagnosis and Andy is 17 months and has a provisional ASD diagnosis. They gave that to him because he is showing signs of Autism but they are not sure where on the spectrum he falls so they labeled it provisional.
My ds1's dx is "most likely" Asperger's but the more time passes I feel like he has some type of PDD instead. Really I would just be happy with a real daignosis that the school system would accept instead of just labelling him as developmentally delayed and saying the servies he receives would be the same. I'm not completely believing that one.
I voted for "Autistic Disorder ("classic" autism, Kanner autism)" since that's what his original diagnosis was. We are getting him another eval. He has changed so much since he got that diagnosis. I really don't believe it fits him anymore. Maybe PDD-NOS. I'm not even convinced of that.
I voted Aspergers even though Michael does have an ASD/C dx since I'm sure it will be changed to that once he gets old enough and the criteria fits him better. He does/did have a language delay but from my reading it's not significant enough to preclude an Aspergers dx. Even now his vocabulary is huge and he's just starting to catch up in using it to communicate rather than label.
