Went to the Chiro today, question.

I went to a chiropractor for the first time today. I know that my hips have been off for a really long time and I have ignored it. Anyway, I went today and they used what is called an Activator. When I was done I got so light headed. I almost threw up and passed out at the same time. I don't remember ever feeling so sick. It took me drinking a large cup of water and resting for 10 minutes before I could even drive home. Once home I ended up taking a nap for 45 minutes and I still don't feel great.

Has this kind of thing ever happened to you? I do know that toxins can be released so I'm not sure if this is what happened. Part of me wonders if it was just because I'm pregnant. I don't know.

I had a c-section with ds and really want a vbac so I want to get in a few more treatments before I deliver, but now I'm scared since I feel so crappy.

The activators are awesome. I will never be cracked by a chiro again. They are so surprising because they move you soooooo much without feeling it at the time.

While I do think your reaction was within normal, I'd be sure to tell your chiro next time and ask him.her to go a little easier next time... though you probably won't have as much to move.

My mom had been going to chiros for years after multiple car accidents and injuries and the first time she went to one that used an activator she almost laughed in thier face. The PT attending her told her she'd probably need to spend a good amount of time lying down and to drink lots and lots of water. My mom left shaking her head but by the time she got home she had no choice but to lie on the floor, she said she felt like she'd been kicked by a horse... and 15 years later is still going to the same chiro

within normal following an adjustment..
not everyone gets these sort of adjustment reactions but we hear it about 30% of the time depending on what we have to work on.. PG can tend to make you more sensitive too,
Make sure you let your chiro know of how you felt and s/he might ammend txps a bit to try to minimize it... the first one to four treatments are usually the worst for it then much better to none after that..

Hope you feel better soon
