Chinese proverb:
One moment of patience may ward off great disaster. One moment of impatience may ruin a whole life.

Yup I am in a mood and need to keep reminding myself. Trees are patient, but I live in the desert now, no trees. LOL

I love that quote, too!

On trees and deserts. Trees are patient. But, your desert comment reminined me of one of my favorite natural phenomenon...I don't know how it is in TX, but in the AZ desert that I grew up in (where there are lots of small trees), all the plants are beyond patient--they spend most of the year brown and dormant, and then when the rainstorms come they would turn green and sprout leaves in under an hour to take advantage of the water while it was around. It was always so miraculous to sit and watch the process, and to know that these plants somehow know to wait until exactly the right moment to do what they need to do to thrive--and then, when the time comes they just do it.

I live next to a mountain and it was amazing to see it green up when we had rain. Along with some fog (Or was it low clouds?) driving through them made it feel like a jerasic park movie, just waiting to see a big dino. And then the little snow we got last winter, the tops of the mountain was white, and it felt like a different place all together. I am not a lover of being so far from the ocean but goodness I would not change for the world the things I have been blessed with seeing here. now to hunt down plants like the ones you spoke of!
