Need opinions re:induction/augmenting

My dh is being useless, just says this is my decision and won't discuss with me, so I'd love feedback from you guys. Hopefully I won't even need it, but just in case.

My last three labors were like now, weeks of contracting, never progressed. Went in, got cervadil, 8ish or so hours later, still no dialating, but water broke. Within less than 30 minutes, baby was here. So far, my body has never dialted more than 2 cm before water breaking/birth. Never had any complications from helping labor, it just seemed stuck on it's own, and still had good labors, drug free etc.

Now this time, baby is measuring a bit bigger (not worrysome, just seems a bit bigger than her brothers were) and personaly, I suspect the date is off. And they just did an u/s and I've got extra water in there with her, which is why she isn't dropping all the way, she just bounces back out lol But I guess there is a tiny risk with that of a prolapsed cord or of arm rushing out with water if it breaks.

So until that last bit, I've just assumed if my water broke at home, we'd likely just deliver here, since I've always been so fast. Now I'm worried. If either of those tiny risks happen, that's serious. And there is a HUGE chance that dh wouldn't be here, I'd be alone with 3 kids when it happened.

So my midwife said that they are willing to induce again. I'll be 40 weeks on Tuesday. She wants me to call her today while she's on call, so she can see what is already scheduled for this coming week. If any openings, we can schedule during the week, or if there is a quiet day today, just go in today. Picking a day in the week doesn't bother me (unless it's Wed., would like to see the boys dressed up and all), but that's because that still gives me days to let it happen on it's own. I feel really weird just 'picking' today though. Don't even know it's an option, but not sure what to do if it is. Dh keeps pointing out how well last 3 went, and I didn't have these fears, but I didn't know as much then as I do now I guess. And at this point, he's already missed two days of work that his boss is really annoyed by, so it would be a huge relief to know he is there with me and not risk being alone.

Oh, and just to add a bit more stress. We just found out last night that some good friends from back in CA are coming out for their first visit. In less than 3 weeks. Not staying with us, but here for Thanksgiving (which is at my house), so will need to clean and entertain, so all the more reason to have as much recovery time as possible before that.

Eek, I'm stressing :

Any good suggestions? Or bad ones lol I've been doing EPO, which hasn't helped yet, tried castor oil two labors ago, (icckkkky, and didn't help), but have had all the 'early' signs you can list, just no dialation again.

The foley catheter thing seems to be working for me. The midwife put the tip in my cervix and inflated it to 3 cm. I was pretty stretchy anyway and it fell out 4 hours later. It seems to have brought lots of contractions with it and my baby (who also has tons of fluid and seems to have been floating too far away from the cervix to put any pressure on it) feels much lower to me.

Thanks. I'm supposed to call her in about an hour, I'll ask about that one. That wasn't one I had heard of until just recently, not sure if it's just that they don't do it, or if I just somehow missed it lol

Thanks

I'm kind of in a similiar boat. I've never completely gone into labor on my own. It's bringing me lot's of anxiety. My midwife wants me to make peace with going to 42 weeks and then we would do a biophysical profile and if everything is fine keep waiting. I'm starting to envy women with doctors and midwives who have the means of getting labors started. That said some women really do poke about it like this and everyone is promising me that I will eventually go into labor. I have alot of scheduling concerns too *sigh*. Good luck as you as you decide what to do!
