I Did It!

Since DD was early I have been super paranoid about going early again with this baby. My greatest fear has been going through NICU hell again. Welllllllllllllllll, today is my day of celebration.
:I made it to 37 weeks!:

Whew! I have been doing herbs and a self-hypnosis CD to keep this baby in. I've been begging her to stay put. Part of me never believed I'd actually make it. But now I can breathe a huge sigh of relief. Whew!

I got a gift certificate to a spa months ago and I've been saving it up as an incentive to make it to full-term. Today is the day I get to use it! I'm getting a massage and a pedicure. I am so happy!

Hurray! As you know, I've been right where you are. Every week is another accomplishment, and it feels so good to know you can grow a baby this long. You should be very happy!

After 37 weeks last time (my first was a 35 weeker, too), I started feeling really, really ready. Give yourself some grace if you start to feel impatient or anxious. Remember what a gift it is that you're still pregnant!

Thanks, Katherine. I got a pregnancy massage and a pedicure. There was hardly anyone else there, so it was nice and quiet and calm. DH took care of DD and when I got home she was napping so I got a nap too. Heavenly! Since I can hardly even reach my feet at this point, it was nice that they got some attention. They are actually presentable now. I felt embarrassed last time bc I had to get to the hospital so fast that I hadn't showered or shaved or painted my toenails or anything, so it's nice that this time I will (hopefully) feel human!
